Getting Started

Verification Process

All new Barn Owls will be verified through their current or previous schools of employment and/or through the state government.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently teaching or retired from the teaching profession

  • Must have a minimum of 20 years of teaching experience

  • If retired, must have a clean background record

Start-Up Fee

There is a $100 start-up fee.

This fee covers:

  • Professional verification

  • A Barn Owl company shirt (to be worn in your profile photo submission)

  • A $10 gift card sent to any previous Barn Owl who referred you to the Nest

  • Complete setup of your tutoring profile on the BBOT website

  • Your first connection

Activation Renewal

Your activation renewal will begin after your first tutoring connection.

  • After every tutoring connection your secure, your profile will go into "inactive mode", which will hide your from the website.  The renewal cost: $10

  • You will receive a link to renew along with the parents' information to reach out to

  • You may stay in "inactive mode" for as long as you want

What You Receive

  • A live, active profile on the BBOT website

  • Direct selection by parents seeking a tutor for their child

  • Parent contact information sent to you (after the parent pays the connection fee), including details about their child’s needs

​

Your Responsibilities as a Barn Owl

  1. Contact the parent within 48 hours of receiving their information

  2. Schedule the student’s first tutoring session promptly

  3. Provide $25 off the first session (pre-arranged promotion)

  4. Update your profile for any changes, use the link below

  5. Manage all parent and student interactions independently from that point forward

  6. Agree to promote BBOT and use BBOT for all future tutoring connections. All Barn Owls will be given a digital link and promotion of their personal connection to share.
